Linlithgow Loch, 24 February 2013

We made a visit to Linlithgow Loch on Sunday morning, 24 February 2013.  Unfortunately we picked the poorest part of the day weatherise as it got better and better as the day wore on.  There was limited activity on the water.  We got some 'firsts' though - Goosanders (Common Merganisers), male and female.  There were several pairs at the west end of the loch.

We also saw the usual 'watery' suspects of Mallards, Moorhens, Coots, Mute Swans, Tufted Ducks and Black-headed Gulls all in relatively high numbers.  Magpies and Rooks were in abundance in the trees surrounding the loch.
